TRANSMAGNIFICANETUBANDANSIALITY

The House at Sugar Creek was built in between 1888 and 1889. We know this with certainty, because we crossed paths with descendants of the home this weekend and they actually showed us documents that prove, without a doubt, that the old dog-trot is 122 - 123 years old.

The document also talks about the word written on the door. For those of us that have been trying to decipher the faded text, we now know (from the document) that the long word is "transmagnificanetubandansiality."

If you don't have a clue as to what I am talking about, click here: http://jackie-lewis.blogspot.com/2011/06/german-words.html

So lets talk more about TRANSMAGNIFICANETUBANDANSIALITY. What does it mean? We're still not certain, but I entered the word into a language recognition website last night and found that the words within the word are more than likely of Latin origin, not German. Here are a few Latin to English translations:

(TRANSMAGNIFICANETUBANDANSIALITY)

TRANS = across, to reach
MAGNIFICA = splendor, eminence, magnificence
NETUBAND = ???? (probably more than one word)
an = or
si = if you wish
ality = in a different way

We are now searching for anyone that can read and / or translate Latin. I am bound and determined to find the meaning of the word written on the back of this door.

Thanks for stopping by to catch up on the project. We will begin working on the house again within the next few weeks, and hopefully the weather will be a little better for us. This 108 degree Louisiana heat is for the birds!
